European Union program for young journalists : Youth4regions

Youth4Regions is a European Commission program designed to help journalism students and young journalists discover what the EU is doing in their region.

What the program offers

  • Training courses in journalism and European Union regional policies.
  • The prospect of being sponsored by well-known journalists in your country.
  • Working side by side with experienced journalists during the European regions campaign.
  • Visits to European affairs media headquarters and EU institutions.
  • A unique opportunity to take part, as a journalist, in the European Commission's press trips to member states.
    Accommodation and travel expenses paid by the European Commission.

Admission criteria

The call for applications is open to anyone meeting all of the following conditions:

  • Have an interest in EU actions and regional policy in your region.
  • Training in journalism (for students) or a maximum of 2 years' experience.
  • Be a citizen of an EU member state or a neighboring EU country (List above).
  • Be between the ages of 18 and 30.
  • Be available from October 10 to 15, 2021.
  • Not have participated in previous editions of the program Youth4Regions.

Application procedure

To apply, potential participants must send a short article (2500 - 6250 characters) or a short video report (2 - 3 minutes) covering a project co-financed by the European Union (European Regional Development Fund or Cohesion Fund). The article or short video should cover one of the following topics:
