Information about volunteering opportunities

The European Commission offers volunteering opportunities in Europe for international students. Two organizations, Volunteer France and Volunteer LithuaniaThey offer cultural, social and educational services to the population. Students can work in fields such as local development, human rights education, refugee integration and content creation.

Countries eligible to apply include many European countries, as well as others such as Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Israel, Lebanon, Jordan, Tunisia and Turkey. Candidates can consult the full list of eligible countries on the organizations' websites.

Program information

Volunteer opportunities are for a period of 12 months. High school, bachelor's, master's and doctoral students can apply without a language certificate. There is no application fee.

The organizations offer a number of benefits to volunteers. Travel, accommodation, meals, language training and internal transport are fully covered. The organizations also provide a Schengen visa assistance letter to facilitate the visa application process.

How do I apply to become a volunteer?

Volunteer France 2023 - 2024

Students can apply directly online to become a volunteer in France or Lithuania. Applicants must complete an online application form and express their opinions and feelings about the organizations' activities and practices. Applicants are encouraged to ask questions and stimulate the development of their own projects or activities that target the local population with the support of the organizations.

Once applications have been submitted, organizations review them and contact successful candidates for an online interview. Organizations can ask for further information about candidates and discuss their skills and motivations for volunteering.
