Forsa Maroc: launch of a program to encourage young people to invest

The Moroccan government has presented the " Forsa "(opportunity), which aims to support and encourage young people seeking funding for their ideas or projects.

According to a press release from the Prime Minister's office, the program was launched "taking into account the difficulties encountered by young people in accessing sources of financing and the obstacles encountered by very small businesses, and taking into account the effects of the covid 19 crisis on the national economy", stressing that encouraging enterprise and job creation is one of the priorities of the government's program.

What is the "Forsa" program for young Moroccans?

The "Forsa" program, for which a budget of 1.25 billion dirhams (120 million euros) will be allocated for 2022, aims to support 10,000 project leaders in all sectors of the economy and all types of trades, while ensuring respect for the principles of regional equality and gender diversity, the press release states.

The updated mechanism includes e-learning training for all selected projects, as well as sponsorship of the most promising projects for two and a half months, mobilizing structures encompassed at regional level.

In terms of financing, the program includes an interest-free honorary loan of up to 100,000 Moroccan dirhams, with a grant of up to 10,000 dirhams.

Who can benefit from the Forsa program?

According to the press release, financing is available for all business sectors, with a maximum loan repayment period of up to 10 years, with a two-year grace period.

The press release contains no further details. It is therefore difficult to give an answer to questions such as: can I benefit from this grant and credit to set up a small restaurant, or any other type of project of this kind? Further details will be made public in late March or early April. In addition, the web platform dedicated to this project is not yet operational.

How do I apply for the Forsa program?

Everything takes place on the Forsa.ma online platform (the site is not yet accessible).

Project developers will be selected following a call for projects to be launched in early April 2022, following which applicants will submit their applications on the electronic platform and be able to receive assistance at Forsa branches opened for this purpose in the kingdom's twelve regions. A customer relations center (CRC) will also be available to support project sponsors throughout the process.

    1. Full details will be published here at the beginning of next month... The intilaka program is financed by the banks... The Forsa program is financed by the state. And it's free credit, unlike the intilaka program.
