Speed is a key factor in the success of your website, and has a strong impact on everything from conversion rates to site ranking. A quality web host can help you shave seconds off your page load times. However, it can be difficult to know which hosts are the fastest on the market.

Let's be clear, a VPS server is always better than any shared hosting offer. But a VPS server has a lot of constraints... you have to buy a cpanel or plesk license, invest in several other extensions like litespeed etc... to get the same result as with a very well configured shared hosting. Amazon's vps, for example, are ultra-fast, and their prices are really tempting... but you have to make a lot of other investments, for backup, for e-mail etc...
You also need to have a clear idea of your real resource requirements before embarking on the choice of vps or SharedHosting.
What's more, a VPS requires more maintenance and effort than you can devote to other tasks, such as writing content or promoting and developing your site's reputation.
